During the 1930's people barely had money to feed themselves, let alone buy a car but car companies still came out with new models of cars regardless of the economy's situation, but the cars ridiculously lowered their prices. A brand new car like the one above sold for as little as $940-1,345. The companies needed money and were willin to sell their cars for as little as possible to get it although there were hardly any sales due to the tgd. And as we see in chapter 7 the car sales men are extremely slimy and do everything they can to up sell, by lying. This 1936 Buick 4 door sedan was popular due to it's features that were fairly new for cars to have. For example four doors, “convenient way of getting inside without bothering the other passengers.” They sold their cars for as much as they could convince people.
